GLOBAL TALENT VISA
You can apply for Global Talent visa to live and work in the UK if you’re a leader (exceptional talent) or potential leader (exceptional promise) in one of the following fields:
- Academia or research (Science, Medicine, Engineering, Humanities)
- Arts and culture (Combined arts, Dance, Literature, Music, Theatre, Visual arts)
- Film and Television
- Architecture
- Fashion
- Digital technology
We have gathered some of the most frequently asked questions about Global Talent visa for you below:
1. Am I eligible for Global Talent visa?
You may be eligible if you are 18 years old and over, and you have any of the following:
- an eligible job offer as an academic or researcher
- an eligible award
- an individual fellowship
- a research grant approved by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI)
2. How do I get an endorsement?
If you are not awarded an eligible prize, which is automatically considered as exceptional talent and, thus; is enough without an endorsement, the first part is you application is applying for endorsement.
There are six endorsing bodies that The Home Office will refer your application for endorsement. If you are applying for endorsement in the fields of medicine, science, engineering, the social sciences or the humanities, or other academic and research roles, you application will be referred to the British Academy, Royal Academy of Engineering, Royal Society or UK Research and Innovation (UKRI). On the other hand, if your field is arts and culture or digital technology, your application will be referred to Arts Council England or Tech Nation.
3. Can I work with a Global Talent visa?
Yes, Global Talent visa allows you to work in the UK as an employee, be self-employed and operate your own business, but you cannot work as a sportsperson.
4. Can I Bring My Family to the UK?
Yes, with Global Talent visa you can bring your close family members to the UK with you, who are:
- your husband, wife, civil partner or unmarried partner
- your child under 18 – including if they were born in the UK during your stay
- your child over 18 if they’re currently in the UK as your dependant
Please note that for each family member, you have to pay an extra application fee of £608,
5. How much does the Global Talent visa cost?
Global Talent visa costs £608. If you’re applying based on an endorsement, you’ll pay the £608 in two parts:
- £456 when you apply for the endorsement
- £152 when you apply for the visa itself
If you’re applying based on an eligible award, you’ll pay the full £608 when you apply for the visa.
